What exactly am I paying for?+
You are paying a once-off admin and service fee — for our time preparing your documents, completing and submitting your application forms, and following up. You are NOT paying for NSFAS or any other bursary: applying for those is free, and the funding itself is awarded by the provider, never by ufunda. We do the admin; we don't sell bursaries and we can't guarantee an outcome.
Can I apply to more than one bursary with a single payment?+
Yes — that's the point. One once-off payment covers multiple bursary applications, up to the limit of your package: Basic covers up to 5 applications, Premium up to 10, and Complete is unlimited. We submit you to every programme you qualify for, up to that cap, without charging per application.
How long does my account stay active after I pay?+
Your account — and the monitoring of any responses from the institutions you applied to — stays active for the duration of your package: 3 months on Basic, 6 months on Premium, and 9 months on Complete, from the date of payment. During that window we keep tracking your applications and forwarding any replies to you. After it ends, you can renew to keep the service running.
How do I apply for NSFAS through ufunda?+
You register once with your details and documents, and we handle the admin — completing and submitting your NSFAS application and capturing your reference number, so you don't have to navigate the portal yourself. Your fee covers this administrative service only. NSFAS itself is free to apply for, and we never charge for the bursary or the funding.
What is the cost of a bursary application in South Africa?+
Applying to NSFAS and most bursaries is free. ufunda charges a once-off admin/service fee (from R250) for the work of preparing, submitting and tracking your applications across NSFAS, the SETAs and corporate bursaries. The fee is for our service only — never for the bursary or the funding.
Which corporate bursaries can ufunda apply to in 2027?+
Our Complete package targets major corporate bursaries opening for the 2027 academic year across engineering, IT, finance, health sciences and more. We match you to the programmes you qualify for and handle the admin of applying — the application itself stays free.
Do you handle ETDPSETA and MERSETA applications?+
Yes. Our Premium and Complete packages include the admin of applying to ETDPSETA, MERSETA and other SETA discretionary-grant bursary programmes where you are eligible. You pay for our service, not for the grant.
Is my personal information safe?+
We process your information strictly to submit your applications, in line with South Africa's POPIA. You consent to this when you register, and you can withdraw consent at any time.
